Da Nang is reaching out to be a touristy most worth-living city of Vietnam with a variety of typical natural attractions, from the clean blue My Khe beach the poetic Han River to the green primeval Son Tra Peninsula. 1. About Da Nang

2. Dragon Bridge
Inaugurated in 2013, Dragon Bridge quickly attracted the attention of the press and Da Nang tourists by the design of a huge golden dragon with a length of 666m and a width of 37.5m, enough for 6 traffic lanes. The distinguishing feature is the steel beam structure system forming a dragon flying over the Han River. It is known that the shape is designed to resemble the Dragon of the Ly Dynasty, facing My Khe beach with the hope of prosperity. This unique design is also said to be unprecedented in the world in terms of load-bearing structures from a combination of steel and concrete beams, as well as steel arches.
What makes Dragon Bridge even more special, and similar to the legendary ones, is that it can spit fire and water. This show starts at 9 pm every Saturday, Sunday, and during major holidays. Since there will be large crowds around this time, to get closer, you should arrive 15 to 30 minutes early.
All the vehicles will be banned on the bridge at that time, so lots of people will flock to the area. It’s recommended to find coffee shops or top-floor bars nearby to avoid the crowds but still have a better gaze-over.
3. Han River Bridge
After Vietnam’s liberation, Da Nang only had the Nguyen Van Troi Bridge built by the US during the war to serve the people’s traffic. In the meantime, to go to the city center, the residents in another part (now Son Tra district) have to travel by ferry. After that, the city government and the locals were determined to build an exclusive swing bridge inaugurated in 2000 – Ha River Bridge.
At about 1 pm daily, the middle part of the bridge rotates 90 degrees around the axis and lies along with the river flow, making way for large ships to pass, until 4 am the bridge will return to the way it was. Recently, boats and ships no longer pass through the bridge, so the rotation has been reduced and mainly kept for maintenance.
Every year, on April 30 and May 1, the Da Nang international fireworks festival is held right nearby this fanciful Han River Bridge. In addition, there are also other events and programs such as traditional boat races, art exhibitions, and releasing lanterns on the Han River, helping visitors enjoy the shimmering Danang by night.
4. Thuan Phuoc Bridge
As the longest cable hammock bridge in Vietnam completed in 2009, Thuan Phuoc Bridge has become the pride of Da Nang people. Song Han Bridge connects the two coastal roads of Nguyen Tat Thanh and Hoang Sa – Truong Sa, forming a system of coastal traffic routes from Hai Van tunnel to Son Tra peninsula, through Man Quang bridge and connecting to the route. 5. Tran Thi Ly Bridge
Tran Thi Ly Bridge was originally rebuilt on the foundation of De Lattre Bridge – which was built by the French in the early 1950s. Situated upstream of Han River, about 1km from Dragon Bridge, Tran Thi Ly Bridge has a single plane cable-stayed system, with a rope structure and the first leaning tower in Vietnam.
The unique highlight which first appeared in Vietnam is an upside-down Y-shaped tower 149m standing in the middle of the bridge. This tower is also an observation deck where visitors can take the elevator to come up and admire the panoramic city view.
Right next to Tran Thi Ly bridge is Nguyen Van Troi Bridge, a “historic witness” associated with numerous important events. Currently, the bridge is requisitioned to become a pedestrian spot to take a look at the neighboring bridges and Sun Wheel.
6. Golden Bridge
The Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills has become a viral tourist phenomenon among the world press and media since its appearance. It was also ranked among the top 100 World’s Greatest Places in 2018 by Time magazine.
This 150-meter bridge is designed as a golden silk band supported by a pair of giant mossy hands growing in the vast blue sky. This scene quickly draws tourists to Da Nang to check in here and has blockbuster pictures.
The altitude at about 1400m above sea level will make walking in here like floating in the sky. Additionally, from here, you will have an amazing panoramic view of primeval forests immersed in clouds.
7. Love Lock Bridge
The arc-shaped love bridge towards the middle of Han River is a new dating spot for young people when coming to the city. In the evening, hundreds of heart-shaped lanterns are lit up shimmering on the water, giving a romantic feeling. The two sides of the bridge are fences where lovers can “lock” their love to show their eternity and loyalty with keychains and then throw the key into the Han River. Around the bridge stands innumerable street cafés and restaurants where you can lay back to watch the dreamy river scene at night or see the fire show on Dragon Bridge.
Next to Love Lock Bridge is a statue of Carp turning into a Dragon proudly spraying water, the first part is inspired by the image of the dragon in the Ly Dynasty while its body is shaped with solid scales. The fishtail part is artistically sculpted from the stylized image of two hands placed symmetrically, meaning peace, prosperity, and solidarity.
